Activity increased hugely from the previous week with feverish trading on the Cavex exchange. Members placed new positions to the tune of £750,000, a rise of 5% on the previous week with 805 new cases offered for sale. The increase of 25% in new cases offered for sale has resulted in a drop in the bid to offer ratio to 1.89:1, the first fall since early in the first quarter of 2014.
Whilst trade was a little subdued in the first week of December, things have started to warm up as shipping deadlines for New Year and Chinese New Year approach. Buyers have been actively seeking deals for Beychevelle, Duhart Milon, Latour and Pavillon Rouge, with multiple vintages of these wines trading through the last seven days. Biggest climber this week saw Beychevlle 2006 rise 10.6% since Februaury this year trading at £575 per dozen. Chateau Latour has also been trading strongly with the 2006 exchanging at £3,350 per 12, up 8.1% since August. Asian buyers continue to hunt for large parcel deals on these wines as well as Carruades de Lafite and Petit Mouton. So please do get in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org should you have stocks to offer.
Biggest faller of the week went to Cheval Blanc 2004 trading at £2,500 (12) down 2.9% since mid-November, closely followed by Ducru Beaucaillou 2003 down 2.8% since June trading at £1,050 (12).
If you’re planning to dispose of some wine ahead of the annual January storage bill appearing, then do send through your portfolio’s now. This is the perfect time of year to clear the decks and shed the excess wines that have been racking up costs. There is no better time to sell in the wine calendar and as previously mentioned we will gladly upload the portfolio for you, ensuring to keep you abreast of trading opportunities as they arise.
With Cavex being the most cost effective way of trading wines in the UK, there is no better place to list your wines for sale at a price you deem fit comparable to market prices. Members remain in control at all times ensuring they independently retain their asset until the last possible moment when delivery or collection occurs. If you haven’t tried the service yet, get in touch on email@example.com and we’ll be very happy to help you achieve the best exit price possible.
