This week’s highlights consist of the very best offers currently on the Cavex platform. They are wines that are not only ready for drinking, but also represent fantastic value for money at their listed prices.
Whilst we typically focus on the movement of high value wines that trade in the market place, there are some fantastic drinking wines at the lower end that are simply going unnoticed. Cavex has been designed to trade all levels of wine In Bond and over the past year we have traded wines from £20 per dozen all the way up to £40,000 per three.
Today we are focussing on 55 wines that are ripe for drinking and all offered at less than £500 per case. These wines score highly from the usual regional commentators, are priced either significantly under or suitably under the UK market and all are ready for immediate delivery to your bond of choice, which includes free delivery and no settlement fee.
The wines are listed by price for ease rather than by country or region and we have classed them in two sections, wines under £250 per case and between £250 and £500 per case.
From the 55 wines highlighted, we start with high pointed wines from Australia such as the 93 point (WA) 2001 Lime Cave Cabernet Sauvignon from Maxwell in the Barossa Valley at £55 IB per 6 and d’Arenberg’s 2001 Coppermine Road at £85 per 6, which at £45 under the next offer in the UK is a genuine bargain. Also, there are multiple offerings from boutique winery Henry’s Drive. These are all high pointed wines and under £16 per bottle on the table once delivered from your bond.
The classic French regions are well represented starting with Bordeaux and Chateau Fonbel 2008 at £10 IB per bottle, Chateau Du Tertre 2004 £25 under market at £225 IB. Burgundy offerings are varied with great prices for parcels of Domaine Courcel £40-£60 under UK market, Lignier Michelot 2009 and 2010′s significantly under market and Joseph Roty Gevrey 2009 £110 under. Even Drouhin Grand Cru Chablis at under £40 per bottle! For Rhone lovers, cases of Clos des Papes 2004 CNDP have been depleting from the platform recently with only three cases left at £320 per 12 and for those that do not want to miss out, there are 16 cases of Domaine Grand Veneur’s 2010 CNDP at £95 IB per 6. At 93 pts from Parker and £30 a case under market, surely this is worth a look?
Failing that, should you still be looking for a keener bargain, why not place a bid.
Do browse the deals and enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend.
